Rejected again! I must say I’m growing very impatient with this establishment.

Our plans to get to El Vez early got a little foiled, so I decided it might be best to call them up before making the full trek down Walnut. They weren’t taking reservations, but fortunately they said there was no wait for a walk-in table. Success!

We continued our journey riding our wave of luck. When we arrived at El Vez, no more than 10 minutes after the phone call, we were shockingly told that our wait would be an HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES. I questioned the statement - there were at least 4 tables empty in the restaurant - and just moments earlier I had been told there was no wait to sit.

Not pleased with the situation, we left. If it’s an hour wait, then tell me that on the phone El Vez. Don’t lie to me so I walk down there to find that the wait over an hour.

Continental got our business last night, and impressed so much that I’m sure I’ll be returning. Aside from the great food, there’s a great lounge up top and the scene is pretty nice all night. Review of that coming up shortly…
