Does anyone have a preference? I’m not sure I’ve had a ton of success going with calling and waiting…and waiting…and waiting for a cab.  If I ever get through to an operator, I’m usually at my establishment for another 15 minutes before I see a puke-ugly taxi show up.

So I decided I would start reviewing them individually and rate them on an ongoing basis.

The first company: PHL Taxi.

I’m not sure if they’re just a dispatching service or if they own vehicles, but I gave them three shots.  Two departing from my place in Center City, and one departing a restaurant in Center City.

• Attempt 1: Quick access to operator, waited 15 minutes for cab despite being told one was on its way.
• Attempt 2: Waited 10 minutes to get to OPERATOR! I gave up and began questioning why I even put their number in my phone.
• Attempt 3: Waited 5 minutes to get to operator, waited 10 minutes for a cab, which never came. So I called back, they were shocked I hadn’t been picked up! Imagine that. Maybe if they had put the damn order through I would have been picked up. So they said another one will be by in 5 minutes, it never came. I left and walked. Fuming.

Final verdict: PHL Taxi is worthless.
