dropps: Green Laundry of the future
Feb 8th, 2008 by Vik
One of the many perils of city-living is the inability to find a laundry machine and, more specifically, the pain-in-the-ass that is carrying your 64 ounces of detergent across town.
Enter dropps. This Philadelphia based company answers that problem and takes it several steps further.
Dropps are little bricks of detergent that dissolve in your washer, sans-foamey mess, and I might add are much easier to carry than a jug of Tide.
They claim to be cleaner/leave less residue than normal detergent and are safe for all fabrics. Equally important, Dropps are environmentally friendly - one their main selling points.
dropps continues to lead the way to a more sustainable future by offering a convenient everyday way for consumers to protect the environment. By offering a low-impact alternative to liquid laundry detergents sold in plastic bottles, dropps helps consumers minimize their personal footprint on the environment. dropps is biodegradable and NPE- and phosphate-free, and is the only liquid laundry detergent that conserves water, plastic and energy.
Did I mention that they are Philadelphia based? I’m all for stimulating the local economy, and this appears to be a great way to do just that.
Three 20-count packs of dropps (60 loads) will set you back $20. Free shipping included. We hope to test out some of these badboys in the near future and will post our candid thoughts after that.
