Amtrak boosting security

Holy crap Batman! That beloved 55-minute Acela from Philadelphia to New York may just get a bit longer.
Amtrak has decided to overhaul it’s security measures throughout the many train stations they serve. All indications are that they will begin on the heavily trafficked Northeast corridor routes, and have “roaming” security stations that will examine bags - perhaps on a random basis.
One of the things that I’ve always enjoyed about the Northeast Acela line is the relative ease with which you can get up and down the coast. No long cab rides to the airport, no check points, no de-clothing at security, no 45-minute waiting around time, etc. I love being able to get to the train station 10 minutes before my train and not having any issues.
Let’s see how the security measures work. I wouldn’t mind seeing a few improvements, but would love for the whole process to still be relatively smooth & expedient.
